Franco Colapinto: Back On Track

Alpine has finally confirmed what had been widely expected since they signed Franco Colapinto as their reserve driver for the 2025 season. The Argentinian will step in for Jack Doohan for at least the next five races, starting in Imola.  Let’s revisit a few highlights of Colapinto’s brief but impressive debut in Formula 1 last year.  Franco Colapinto was introduced to Formula 1 in 2024 when he replaced former Williams driver Logan Sargeant mid-season. Despite delivering solid performances—including a standout eighth place finish in Baku—his seat was spoken for, with multiple race winner, Carlos Sainz, stepping in for 2025. Fortunately, Alpine recognized his potential and brought him on board as their reserve driver. During his nine race stint in 2024, Colapinto also claimed the  Overtake of the Year  for his daring move on two-time world champion Fernando Alonso in Austin.  Now, with this second chance to prove himself, Colapinto is ready to hit the trac...

Round 6: Miami πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Welcome to Miami!  A once Verstappen-favourite circuit that has now turned orange, following Norris’s breakthrough win in 2024 and Piastri’s success in this year’s Grand Prix. After a chaotic Sprint Race weekend, we could get used to having Miami in the race calendar for the next sixteen years. But for now, let’s dive into this year’s thrills and spills. Oscar Pias-THREE  Championship leader Oscar Piastri , is now sixteen points ahead of teammate Lando Norris in the title fight—yet remains as humble as ever. After qualifying P4 behind Norris and Verstappen, the Aussie secured his third consecutive win, solidifying his place as this season’s only multiple race winner. His cool-headed dominance and winning mentality, particularly when up against four-time world champion Max Verstappen, continue to set him apart in ways Norris has yet to match.  The Seat Prevailed  This season’s standout rookie, Kimi Antonelli , made headlines once again by securing a record-breakin...

Under the blazing lights of  Bahrain , the 2025 Formula 1 season delivered a weekend full of speed, strategy and surprises. From McLaren’s commanding performance to unexpected midfield shake-ups, the desert set the stage for a race weekend full of drama.  McLaren’s Desert Dominance  Oscar Piastri  drove one of the most dominant races of his F1 career so far, leading the grid under the desert lights. From  lights out ,  Piastri  showcased flawless control and tire management, holding off challenges from more experienced rivals. This victory solidified Piastri’s status as one of the rising stars of the grid, with many now viewing him as a serious contender in the 2025 title fight - just three points behind his teammate. Apart from Piastri’s win,  Lando Norris  helped McLaren secure yet another 1-3, marking their third double podium of the season.  Gasly Puts Alpine Back on the Map Pierre Gasly  managed to score Alpine’s first point...

Round 3: Suzuka πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

The 2025 Japanese Grand Prix returned at the iconic Suzuka Circuit as the first part of the season’s intense triple header. With its high-speed corners, iconic figure-eight layout and unpredictable weather, expectations were high for another Suzuka classic. But what we got instead was more of a classic Monaco snoozer -   few overtakes, minimal drama and a grid that could have used a pillow, well, except for Alex Albon.  Verstappen Strikes Back In Style  For the forth year in a row, Max Verstappen was untouchable and claimed victory in Japan. After clinching pole position on Saturday with a record-breaking lap time, the four-time world-champion left his competitors no chance. The Dutchman is now only one point short to his 2024 rival, Lando Norris. With this being the first of three back-to-back races, Mclaren should be up for a fight. It was a statement win, clean, dominant and classic Max.  Yuki’s   Moment  While Verstappen dominated, all eyes were on t...

Round 1: Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

The 2025 Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Albert Park set the tone for what will be a thrilling season full of spins and wins, featuring unexpected performances and costly incidents due to the changing weather conditions throughout the whole weekend. McLaren’s Dominance Lando Norris picked up where he left off last season as the most recent race winner and managed to win the Australian Grand Prix from Pole. He now has the lead in the driver’s championship, with Max Verstappen breathing down his neck and last years rivalry continuing but with Norris on top (for now). His teammate, Oscar Piastri, made the papaya family proud not by achieving a home race win, but by scoring points for his team, even after facing setbacks in the slippery streets of Melbourne. Williams’ rise to the top After years of underperforming, Williams showed up for the Australian Grand Prix, finishing the weekend with a promising P4 in the Constructors’ Championship. Alex Albon delivered a brilliant drive sc...
