Zandvoort 🇳🇱

Summer break is over, and Formula 1 is back with a banger!

Piastri’s Dream, Norris’s Nightmare

Oscar Piastri dominated Zandvoort from start to finish, holding off reigning champion and home hero, Max Verstappen, for most of the race. This victory, combined with his teammate’s DNF, gave him a huge boost in the Drivers’ Championship, opening up a 34-point gap to his rivals.

After winning at Zandvoort last year, Lando Norris failed to finish the race in what could prove to be a crucial moment in the title fight against his teammate.

The Bulls

Max Verstappen kept his streak of only finishing first or second on home soil alive, benefitting from Norris’s misfortune. Meanwhile, rookie Isack Hadjar secured his first-ever podium after an impressive opening half to his debut F1 season. Expectations are sky-high as he heads into his team’s home race next weekend.

Red Chaos in the Netherlands

Zandvoort wasn’t kind to many drivers. Both Ferraris retired at Turn 3, with Charles Leclerc colliding with Kimi Antonelli, while Lewis Hamilton lost control of his car after slipping over the infamous painted lines. These DNFs set Ferrari back in the Constructors’ fight, with Mercedes now just 12 points behind heading into Monza.

With the championship picture shifting once again, all eyes now turn to Monza. Ferrari will need to bounce back in front of the Tifosi to defend their second place in the Constructors’ Championship, while Piastri looks to extend his lead and Norris seeks redemption. The Italian Grand Prix promises high stakes, high drama, and plenty of passion.
